Ethical Shiba Inu breeding in Australia
At Orienta, ethical breeding is about more than producing beautiful puppies.
It is about making careful breeding decisions, raising puppies with intention, and giving each puppy the best possible foundation before they leave us for their new home.
A puppy’s first weeks matter. This early stage is when puppies begin learning about people, sounds, routines, handling, surfaces, household movement and the world around them. For a companion breed living in family homes, we believe puppies should be raised in an environment that helps prepare them for family life.
That is why Orienta puppies are raised inside our home from birth.
They are not raised separately from daily life, and not turfed out to a kennel the second they can walk. They are handled, observed and gently introduced to normal household experiences in a safe and age-appropriate way. This helps us support their confidence, understand their individual temperaments and make thoughtful decisions about the homes they are best suited to.
For us, home-raised is not a slogan. It is a core part of how we raise Shiba Inu.. A puppy’s first environment matters. At Orienta, our puppies are raised in the kind of environment they are preparing to live in - a home.

At Orienta, every litter is the result of careful planning, years of breed knowledge and a genuine commitment to raising confident, healthy and well-matched Shiba Inu. We are proud to combine the standards of a serious preservation breeding program with the warmth and care of puppies raised inside our family home. Our goal is simple: to raise Shiba Inu who are beautiful, healthy, sound, confident and loved - from our home to yours.
Health Tested
Our breeding dogs are health tested / cleared before being included in our breeding program. We use health results, pedigree knowledge and careful planning to make responsible decisions for each litter.
Every Orienta puppy is examined by a veterinarian and leaves us with a full veterinary health clearance, giving their new family added confidence and peace of mind.
Home-raised
At Orienta, home-raised means more than being born inside. Our puppies are raised inside our family home from birth and continue to be part of normal household life as they grow. As they become more mobile, curious and aware, they are gently introduced to age-appropriate experiences, daily routines, household sounds, handling and supervised interaction with children.
This helps us support their confidence, understand their individual temperaments and prepare them for life as companion dogs.
Proven breed quality
Orienta is home to award-winning Shiba Inu, including Supreme Champions and nationally recognised dogs. Our show results are not just about ribbons - they reflect structure, movement, soundness, temperament and true Shiba Inu breed type.
Purposeful breeding decisions
We do not breed often, and we do not breed simply to meet demand. Each litter is planned with care, considering health, temperament, pedigree, genetic diversity, structure and the long-term future of the breed.
Ongoing support
Our relationship with our puppy families does not end when a puppy leaves us.
We offer ongoing breeder support for the life of your Shiba, whether you want regular guidance, the occasional check-in, or simply the reassurance that you can contact us if you ever need advice.
Some families stay closely connected with updates, photos and questions. Others are happy knowing we are there in the background if needed. Either way, every Orienta puppy leaves with lifelong support from a breeder who knows them, cares about them and is committed to their wellbeing.
